Our Promise in One Sentence

unfollowSafe processes all of your Instagram data locally in your browser and never uploads, stores, or shares your personal information on any server.

1. What We Collect

We do not collect your Instagram credentials. We do not collect your follower lists, your following lists, or any data contained in your Instagram archive. When you upload a ZIP or JSON file, it is processed entirely within your browser’s memory and then discarded when you leave or refresh the page.

The only data that may be collected is standard, anonymized website usage data through Google Analytics (see Section 4) and any information you voluntarily send us via email through our contact form.

2. Local Storage

unfollowSafe may use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as your theme (dark or light) and a “safe list” of usernames you choose to bookmark. This information stays on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s settings, and we cannot access it.

3. Cookies

We use minimal cookies required for analytics (see below). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser without losing access to the tool.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects anonymized data such as pages visited, device type, and approximate location. Google may process this data under its own Privacy Policy. Google Analytics never receives the contents of your Instagram archive.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location (including GDPR in the EU/EEA and CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@unfollowsafe.com. Because we store almost nothing about you, most requests are resolved trivially.

6. Children’s Privacy

unfollowSafe is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
